Church Grim Mythology
A curious creature, the church grim is an animal that is sacrificed to protect churches. They are spirit animals that are buried under the altar of Christian churches with newly founded graveyards. Although they can be depicted as multiple animals such as a ram, raven, dog, or a lamb. The pig is most common. When the bells begin to ring, the church grim, along with protecting the church, sweep the floors to clean spirits from the air.
Another history that reveals the church grim is the change that they bring upon people. If a person, other than the priest, sights a church grim, this is known to signal great change to the person’s life. This change does not necessarily have to relate to death, or tragedy. |
